First post - Coldwater Marine Aquarium

My Cold water marine aquarium is now up and running, its has natural seawater from a local beech and gravel from a beech further away, its only just over a day old but the amount of life that's come in with the water and gravel is astounding, there is thousands of plankton of all shapes and sizes, worms, shrimp and some so small that they just look like black blobs that move around.

The 4 pieces of Rock in the aquarium are from a shop though, its special reef rock that will soak up water and allow the natural bacteria that clean the water to live in it, it will be over a year until its looks like normal live rock though, you might be shocked to know it cost me £41 (200Lei) for the 4 pieces, it was about £6(30Lei) a Kg

After a week i will experiment by adding a few fish from my local beech to increase the levels of ammonia that the bacteria live on, it could be up to 4 months until the filter has enough bacteria to support a fully stocked tank. but eventually i will keep fish and invertebrates from my local ocean.

i will post more as i get it
thanks for reading
